Illustration Concentration was what we called the Illustration track in Communication Design at Kutztown University of PA. The “Illustration Concentration” was eliminated in 2020. K.U. still offers illustration classes. The Communication Design Dept. has merged with Fine Arts to become the new Department of Art and Design.
I retired from the university, but will still occasionally update the blog. It’s had over 250,000 views since 2014! I have always paid for this website. There are over 300 posts about various aspects of illustration, so I will keep the site up for now. Unless otherwise noted, all entries are by me. I suppose this blog is a bit of an ego trip, but I genuinely love illustration and like having a place to share my thoughts on the subject.
My other website, heymccloskey.com has info my books and school visits.
Book Reviews: Occasionally, I review books. Some books are provided by the publishers; others I buy. I try not to let free books influence reviews, but I review titles I find worthwhile.
